Who Needs Coaching?
First of all, that’s a trick question.
Do you NEED 300 channels on your TV? No, not really, but it sure makes it nice on those nights you can't sleep.
Do you NEED a $5.00 cup of coffee? No, mostly not because a $1.50 cup will do the same magic, but it sure tastes better.
Do you NEED the data plan on your phone? This is arguable, but technically, no. We all survived prior to smart phones but having the ability to "internet" on the run sure makes things more efficient.
Do you NEED coaching? Theoretically, no. You can keep doing what you are doing and get by. But, if you want to go from where you are to where you TRULY want to be in the quickest possible way...yes...you need coaching.
Coaching is for those who are ready to start predicting their future by creating it, not waiting for it to happen.
You know how it is. You have a problem, so you get together with your friends and discuss it. Or, you talk to your mother or you GOOGLE it...but in the then all you've done is talk. When all is said and done 6 weeks later you are still doing the same things and still getting the same results.
THAT’S why coaching. Coaching is taking your goals and dreams and turning them into reality.

Coaching is also a professional relationship. According to the International Coach Federation (ICF), "Coaching is partnering with clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximize their personal and professional potential."
Bottom line, coaching isn't giving advice, sharing opinions, consulting, or therapy. It's not therapy, and doesn’t' treat or diagnose psychological or medical conditions. A common question that comes up is "how is coaching different from therapy?" The most clear cut answer is, therapy is about resolving the past and coaching is about creating the future.
